Early Childhood

Programs/Curriculum

Learning to love God and love the Scriptures is foundational to the

experiences and relationships we provide to children daily.

 

On this foundation, NCA Early Education Programs follow the

Quality Program Preschool Standards (QPPS).

Teachers are licensed through the Iowa Department of Education. 

Infant Program

Program:

Teachers are specially trained and experienced in this age group. But most importantly, teachers show God’s love as they nurture these young hearts.

 

Children will play to learn in a well thought out center based environment.

Meeting Times:

  • Monday - Friday (7:00am - 5:30pm)

1 Year Old Program

Program:

Teachers are specially trained and experienced in this age group. Most importantly, teachers will be showing God’s love as they nurture these young hearts.

 

Children will play to learn in a well thought out center based environment.

2 Year Old Program

Program:

Two-year-old programming will begin summer of 2019!    Teachers will be specially trained and experienced in this age group. But most importantly, teachers will be showing God’s love as they nurture these young hearts.

 

Children will play to learn in a well thought out center based environment.

Meeting Times:

  • Monday - Friday (7:00am - 5:30pm)

Curriculum:

A wide variety of curriculum resources are used to meet the following learning objectives

  • Spiritual Awareness

  • Intellectual/Academic

  • Social/Emotional

  • Physical Development

Curriculum and Assessment

Creative Curriculum for 2s

3 Year Old Program

Program:

Between birth and age 5, there are approximately 2,000 days of growth and development for the young child.  Each of these days is significant in the areas of cognitive, social-emotional, and spiritual development.  Norwalk Christian Academy offers a wide variety of age-appropriate Christ-centered programs designed to prepare active 3-year-olds for academic success and spiritual growth.

 

Ratio:

​Preschool 3's:

  • Ratio is 1-8

 

Meeting Time Options:

Preschool 3's:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday (8:00am - 11:00am)

  • Tuesday, Thursday (8:00am - 11:00am)

Curriculum:

  • Intellectual/Academic

  • Social/Emotional

  • Physical Development

  • Phonics, Pre-Reading, Reading

  • Language Arts: Pre-Handwriting, Handwriting

  • Math

  • Social Studies

  • Science

  • Health

There are ongoing Assessments using Teaching Strategies Gold benchmarks of growth and development to monitor progress and set the foundation for individualization and emerging curriculum.  Parent conferences are available bi-annually and as needed.  Special services are available to Norwalk Christian Academy through Heartland AEA for screenings in speech, hearing, or other areas of development.

4 Year Old Program

Program:
